Melodie Reece is the LEAD Project Manager for White Center and backup for LEAD in North Precinct. Melodie also leads a harm reduction and sex worker’s rights organization (POC- SWOP) that specializes in serving people of color and provides safe use, safe sex, and other specialty supplies to street-based sex workers and drug users on the Aurora corridor in north Seattle. She received her Master of Public Administration from the highly-ranked Evans School of Public Policy & Governance at the University of Washington, researching criminal justice, education, & anti-poverty policy. Melodie has an extensive history of non-profit leadership experience for LGBTQ, PoC, reproductive health, and sex worker’s rights organizations.
Prior to PDA, Melodie led food security programming at the University of Washington's Food Pantry and spent the last year as a teaching assistant at UW in the Department of American Ethnic Studies. Melodie is committed to anti-racism/anti-oppression in institutions and is a proponent of harm reduction.
