Melodie Garcia is a Project Manager for the Seattle/King County LEAD program where she brings passion for criminal justice reform, anti-poverty policy, and harm reduction interventions for drug users & sex workers.
Melodie holds a master's degree in Public Administration: Social Policy from the University of Washington, and moonlights as an academic researcher, nonprofit consultant, and harm reductionist. She is a member of the Community Advisory Board on Law Enforcement Oversight (CACLEO) for King County and participates in other local law enforcement oversight & accountability groups.
Prior to PDA, Melodie facilitated conversations on race and imperialism as a Teaching Assistant for American Ethnic Studies at UW where she also worked to develop food security programming. Melodie also co-founded the People of Color's Sex Worker Outreach Project (POC-SWOP) and Green Light Project.
